Master's (12 to 36 months) and Doctorate (24 to 48 months)
The graduate Program in Clinical Dentistry (PPGO) at School of Dentistry (FO), Federal University of Goiás (UFG) leads to master's and doctoral degrees and was established in 2003, and it was the first Program of this field in central-west region of Brazil.
The PPGO aims to integrate the different knowledges of dentistry to other areas of health and related fields, looking forwar to educate teachers and researchers with the integrated vision and interdisciplinary knowledge. This broader approach allows a better coherence with the regional / global reality and the profile of a graduate who has completed the program successfully to be able to adapt clinical practices to scientific knowledge and to improve the quality of life population . A greater consistency in the development of research projects under different methodological aproachs, also broadens professional training, who will be highly qualified lecturer (able to join, and adapt to, a teaching institution in Brazil or abroad, work as a lecturer and nucleate research). Among the goals of the program is the strengthening of its internationalization in order to minimize a gap in relation to the large technological centers, optimizing application of available resources and, also, emerge as a new center of reference in this area of knowledge.
THE PROFILE OF THE GRADUATE WHO HAS COMPLETED THE PROGRAM
The egress from the PPGO-UFG of the masters course to have skills to act in teaching and scientific research linked and lines of research of the program. For the phd course, in addition to the skills developed in the ring of masters, profile egress is characterized by greater independence no development from research with a focus on originality, innovation and educational impact, social and / or technological / economic. Critical, ethical, and responsible thinking, with humanistic posture and scientific attitude, also composes the egress profile of the program.
